Privacy policy
Last updated: August 18, 2026
This policy explains what personal data Reservar.do collects, what it uses it for, who it shares it with and what rights you have over it, in accordance with Law 172-13 on the Comprehensive Protection of Personal Data of the Dominican Republic.
1. What data we collect
- Booking data: name, email address, phone number and stay details (dates, guests, preferences) that you enter when booking — with or without an account.
- Account data (if you decide to create one): your password is stored encrypted (bcrypt), never in plain text.
- Communications: the messages you send to a property, and the reviews and claims you file about a booking.
- Minimal technical data: your IP address and user agent when you make a request, used only for security and to adapt the experience (for example, showing prices in your preferred currency).
We do not collect or store your full card number. When you pay by card directly to a property, that data is processed by the payment gateway of that property (Azul or CardNET), not by our servers.
2. What we use your data for
- To process and confirm your booking, and to send it to you by email.
- To let you contact the property and leave a review or file a claim.
- To calculate your tier in the Reservar Plus loyalty programme, if you have an account.
- To send you emails directly related to your booking (confirmation, reminder before your arrival, survey after your stay) — never third-party marketing.
- To prevent fraud and protect the security of the platform.
3. Who we share your data with
We share the strictly necessary details of your booking (name, contact, dates, guests) with the property you booked, because it is the party providing the accommodation service. If you pay by card directly to the property, your payment data is processed by that property's gateway (Azul/CardNET). We do not sell your personal data to third parties, nor do we use it for advertising purposes unrelated to Reservar.do.
4. How long we keep your data
We keep your booking data while your account is active or while it is necessary for legal, accounting or dispute-resolution purposes (for example, the booking history that supports your Reservar Plus tier). If you delete your account, we keep only what the law requires us to keep (billing records) for the corresponding legal period.
5. Your rights (Law 172-13)
You have the right to access your personal data, to rectify it if it is incorrect, to request its deletion, and to object to a specific use (ARCO rights). To exercise them, write to us from the Help centre. If you have an account, you can update your name, phone number and password yourself from “My account” at any time.
6. Security
We apply reasonable technical measures to protect your data: encrypted passwords, mandatory two-factor authentication for the partner panel, and role-restricted access to booking information. No system is 100% infallible, but we handle your data with the same care we would give our own.
7. Minors
Reservar.do is not directed at minors. Accounts and bookings must be made by an adult responsible for the trip.
8. Changes to this policy
If we update this policy in a significant way, we will indicate it on this same page along with the date of the last update.
